Challenge Day 111 - am in love ♥

There's quite a few happy things happening at my space today. :) Am so happy that I could just roll on the grass right now! Teehee!~

First up, I have received my first order at my Etsy's store today! :) YAY!

Next up, do you still remember I have posted heaps of cutesy and pretty masking tape of late? Guess what? 2 lovely parcels all the way from Japan just arrived today! Weeeeeeeeee! SO HAPPY!
Parcel #1
One of the packaging...thanks Karen! :)
Another Japanese Washi Masking Tape! :P
OOOO...I like this packaging by itself.
It took me minutes before opening it cuz I was spending quite a bit of time staring aka admiring them! :D
Parcel #2
My first set of rubber stamp collection ...after so many years!
I love this set A LOT! I particularly like the smell of wood in it! :)

I felt like a kid opening all of these parcels. So excited! They are all so pretty. I just wish I can leave them as it is! FOREVER :D It really bring back some good old childhood memories opening all of them! :)

Challenge Day 110 - Creative Bliss

Here's the result of yesterday's sneak peek. Was meant to make this for a submission in one of the competition and I ended up having too much fun making them (and being ms perfectionist too).. of course, I missed the dateline. :D
Missy Minzy's Mushy World Series Print
First trial: Working in Progress by using clip and hook hang onto the rope...
I like to hang them up and have a look at them from a far.
Just so I can get some feel from it if that's good or how can I enhance them.
Second Trial: So I ended up change the design [again]...
as I want it to be both side design printed.
And it was already very late at night.

I have to admit it is always a battle to beat to submit an early post at Kirsty's My Creative Space every Thursday. I spent quite a bit of time working on this project last night. I thought I would stay up late again (like some evenings) but I just couldn't accomplish it last night. I felt uneasy and a little ill (Peanut was moving around too) when I was burning the midnight oil.

So I decided to get a good sleep and finish it this morning. So here you are....this is what I have been working on since this morning. :)
Ahh...quite satisfied with the second attempt... :)

Next step: to proceed designing and getting this packaging ready for my first ever Party Mini Buntings.

It will be available at my Etsy store in a bit. :)

Head over to Kirsty's blog for more talents and more sneak peeks at what others are doing...thank you for all the lovely comments and suggestion given last week. Happy Thursday everyone! :)

Challenge Day 106, 107 & 108 - 2 more...

Boom Boom Owl can be purchased here
Pedal Me Away can be purchased at my Etsy shop too... :)

A long weekend with not much of creative happening at my creative space other than spending heaps of time doing the last minute shopping for Peanut and spring cleaning around the pad. I have been able to get some decent deep sleep of late, which is a good thing I reckon!

A quick update on the latest development on Peanut's growing, if you care... ;)
As some of you might have know that am diagnosed GD at week 28 and had to monitor my BSL since then. So the doctor had arranged a US appointment for me to attend this week. Apparently Peanut is growing healthy and her weight is all under control. That is something positive to know. :)

Just in case if you ever see me missing in action for more than a week. You should be well aware that I would be at the hospital and be offline for awhile ;) Thank you Kylie for your support and loves by checking on me. Really appreciate that! XX

Challenge Day 105 - Do you collect anything as a hobby?

Do you collect anything as a hobby? I know I do!

I still remembered I used to collect Hello Kitty, those pink Bunny (forgotten the name), Little Twin Stars when I was a kid...it may well be on stickers, rubber stamp, bookmarks, cute pencils and pens, cute envelopes, bags, cards.....I truly had quite a huge collection that my sister got jealous and she had to took it from my drawer and cut them (guess she was trying to destroy the evident just so it does not looks like mine. lol)
Picture from here
Anyways, those were the good old memories. I doubt she would remember all this, now that we are both married with spouse;)

So you might thought Oh..Irene, she might be grown up and no longer thinking of collecting anything cute and pretty. You would be WRONG if you did! Hahaha...

New Hobby: I found this blog - I love Sticky Tape awhile ago and I was blown away by his collection (or should I say obsession?). They are not any ordinary masking tape or tiger tape (the ones you saw at the crime scene from CSI). I have learnt so much about sticky tape from Jacqui (the blog owner) that sticky tape can be creative, pretty, design, cute, vintage and the list goes on!

Check this out if you also like Rob Ryan like I do!

So you can imagine I was spending half of the time on Etsy trying to look for something cute and pretty while doing more listing on my Etsy store. Gotta love being a multi-tasking woman! :D~

Challenge Day 104 Part II - 3 more Up for grab at Etsy

3 more masterpieces are up for sales ...only at Etsy! :)

The background color of this Giclee Print is light blue green colour

It can be available in pure white background as an alternative option if desired.

Challenge Day 104 - More Tweaking

There's actually some tradie guys working on our roof above our pad for the last few days. It wasn't very nice actually. Imagine the noise and spraying noise everytime they walk on top of you. I hope they will finish the work very soon. But I reckon I will still see them coming back to our pad after the long weekend too. On the bright side, at least we are going to have a new, sleeking clean rooftop hey! :)

Posted this on Etsy last night but wasn't very satisfy with it. So doing more tweaking on this.
Alrighty!! Am excited for today! I have been gearing to list more masterpiece on Etsy ever since the day it was launched. I am hoping to list another 3 pieces on Etsy. Excellent feeling everytime an artwork is listed. Not to say there's heaps of them at the moment anyways...but you know what I meant... ;)

Challenge Day 103 - My Creative Space

It has been quite happening in My Creative Space since Challenge Day 100 or day before. First, I upgraded my blog's domain name...then I have a new header banner.

To celebrate the successful of reaching my Challenge Day 100. I have decided to mark the day by launching my Etsy store. I knew about the price of listing but I do not understand how come took me so long to find the courage to list and sell my masterpieces online. So, I was and still overwhelming about the status where I am. Only thing is that I have to list more!

Below are one of the work I have been mucking around..which I will list them on Etsy very soon.
Showing you some Work In Progress' work...still some tweaking to be done though...

After

Thank you for all the lovely suggestion on what should I do with this hand printed fabrics which I made awhile back at My Creative Space last week. So I have decided to have a go by utilizing one of them on making a few 'element' since the fabric prints is on an odd size.

This is what I have came up with... Element #1
The Rubber Carving Block Fabric prints
A handmade picture frame which I did a long time ago....
The End result of Element #1

Not sure do I like the end result but at least I gave it a go. That's what creation is all about. :)

My next task which am about to do (after the tweaking) is to apply some beautiful colors onto this masterpiece...
You liking my progress so far? :)

Alright. Enough of me now... ;) Head over to Kirsty's place for more creative talents lovely people out there... Here wishing you a Happy Thursday everyone! :)

Challenge Day 102 - Not myself

Didn't feel quite myself today. I have no idea how come am feeling this way.

Maybe it is true, just like the stormy weather in Melbourne last night? Lightning and gone, and lightning and gone again...It felt as if mother earth was having some lightning party in the sky last night.

Maybe, been feeling a little bit frustrating on something which I WISH I know what it is...

Maybe am tired...tired of being pg?? tired of being what? I don't know...

I was trying to put on my Creative Hat earlier..hrm, tough luck today. Nothing seems to look perfect or right in my eyes. I guess my creative juice is running low today. How's your day been? Hopefully it's a lot better than mine!

Challenge Day 101 - Art Swap Project

I have 2 invitations to join an "Art Swap Project" this week...where one has to invite 6 of your friends to participate.

I like to participate but I don't have enough friends whom I like to invite. So I like to invite some of the blogging land mates to join the fun too! :)

You will only need to send out 1 piece of art and be receiving 36 pieces of art at the end of the time frame...as long as you don't break the circle. The 1 piece of art can be a little drawing, a print, a comic or a zine, a photo, a felted creation, a beaded thing... Whatever fits your niche and mood, and can be dropped in the mail within a week (or something like that...).

Please leave a comment if you would also like to participate. So that I can forward you more detail via email.
With much love! XX

Challenge Day 100 - Missy Minzy's Store at Etsy

I love the number 100 and I thought why not! Let's make the big announcement on Challenge Day 100!
So..finally....Missy Minzy's e-store is up and running. Took me so long to get it going. Worth the wait? Hmm..maybe. When you are not ready, you are not. But then again, who can tell you when is the right time hey?

Am particular. Am fussy. Am precious and am a perfectionist. I reckon I should NOT delay the big plan anymore. I have to take the plunge, make the list by clicking the 'finish'. I am human and am a newbie to all this. I might make mistake here and there but at least am taking my baby steps! I guess I will make changes on my e-store along the way...as there's so much to learn!

At current, I have just manage to get a few items on etsy. I hope to get more masterpieces listed in the next few days! I spent some time doing some final research on shipping and posting this morning. For time being, am releasing some of my Mushy World Series on etsy...hope to unveil more.
I remembered I started this 3 months challenge sometime January this year and it should be finishing at the end of March. A challenge for myself - to create an art a day..to multiply my day. I really enjoy all of my days throughout this 3 months challenge. Cuz it not only brings MORE meaningful into my daily life (since am stay-home-mum-to-be) but also helps me staying away from being negative and being isolated. I have also met quite a good amount of like minded friends in blogging land. Some became very close to me. :) It's like they are living just around the corner where I am. Isn't it awesome? :) With that reason, I have decided to continue the challenge until Peanut is born....cuz it has really bringing the best out of me and am digging it! And, I would like to see some positive result from this. :)

So please bear with me (patiently) as the e-store just get kick started! Thank you for all the supports and lovely encouraging words throughout my journey so far. Now am excited! :)

Challenge Day 99 - What you think?

I have to say I stole this pix from a gf's gf...
I hope she is ok with that.. :D
Weekend:: Sunny weather in Melbourne this weekend. Spent a lot of time indoor mainly cuz Mr Minzy is not feeling well. Quite bizarre to know that I have a lot of energy running around doing a lot of things given am 36 wks pg.

* * * * * * * *
What you think? ::
So this is the real scenario what happen to me at one of the social gathering I attended recently.

Somebody: What are you selling?
Me: Having a lot of ideas and at current, am focusing on selling my hand-drawn illustration and giclee print (and etc) for time being.
Somebody: There's a lot of people are doing that too.
Me: *smile*

Will that stop you from doing what you want to do/are doing just because you are ALSO another graphic designer and illustrator in the industry?
I have always believe that art is a very personal thing. Everyone has their own style. Some might like your work, some might not.

In conclusion: No. I don't. However, I strongly believe with my rather new involvement in this handmade market would definitely get some excitement in the industry so to speak. And based on my personal experience (back to the convo above), people who said that are usually lack of self esteem and still trying to find their feet to land somewhere...
