My Creative Space: Peacock

So this is one of my concept sketching which I had done during my challenge days. Hoping to finish this before end of the week. Lots to do when you have to juggle with a 10 weeks old baby. You sometime just have to find time to be able to sit down and do all the things which you used to enjoy doing it. To be honest, I reckon am finding it a bit difficult to juggle doing all that this week. Maybe I just have too much going on in my plate at the moment.
Yes, it is a Peacock!
Will hope to unveil the end result of this masterpiece very soon. :)

Oh, another sneak peek on what I have done of late.
Just need a name to go with it before listing it on Etsy's store.

Don't forget to pop over to My Creative Space to discover what others are up to at their creative space. X

Recipe: Chilli Garlic Fish Fillet

Remember this dish which I posted here? Some of you were asking me to post the recipe on how to make this Chilli Garlic Fish fillet during my early challenge days.

Oh, just so you know I convey message through my drawing a lot better compared to my writing skills. Simply because English is not my first language. So, pardon my grammar. But DO let me know if this work. Cuz I like to know..gotta dash. My girl is calling for me now. X

Chili Garlic Fish Fillet

450-500g raw fish fillet (I used travelly fillet)
Cooking Oil
A pinch of Sea Salt
White Pepper
Soy Sauce
Dark Soy Sauce
3 gloves of garlic
1 white onion/shallots (sliced)
1/2 cup of Long Bean (say 1cm in size)
Extra Hot Curry Powder
Sesame Oil
Fish Sauce
Sambal (You can get it from Asian Grocery)

Cut fish fillet into cube size. Then season it with sea salt and white pepper.

Beat an egg and ready a plate of plain flour for battering the fillets.

Dip the whole lot of seasoned fillets into the beaten egg and bring it onto the plate of plain flour for battering. Make sure it is well coated.

In a wok/non-stock saucepan, heat oil, add the fish and stir fried for about 3 minutes until it turned golden brown.

Pour some curry powder into the fillet (according to how hot and spice you like). A drop or 2 of fish sauce and 1 tsp of Sambal into the dish. Stir fried it for at least 2 minutes before adding half of the garlic and onion.

Pout in 3 tsp Soy Sauce and 2 tsp of Dark Soy Sauce and stir fried for another 2 minute.

Add the long bean *, and the rest of the garlic and onion.

Season with sea salt and some sesame oil into the dish.

You can prepare some sliced spring onion into the dish for colour.

Served up onto a bowl of cooked rice..

*
1. You can add some capsicum if you like just make sure it is cut into small size.
2. You can also add some curry leaves just to add some nice aroma into the dish.
3. You can replace the spring onion with Lebanese Cucumber (sliced them up into cube bite size)

How was your weekend?

I hope you had a good weekend. As for us, Melbourne has been having a fabulous sunny weather for the last few days, which was awesome to do something outdoor in such a chill weather (it's winter here btw).
We took the tram..to St Kilda
Saw heaps of people screaming and having fun on the ride at the Luna Park.
We also saw some people roller skating along the esplanade...and bike riding too.
there's heaps of yachts at the pier.
probably not the good weather for this at the moment.. but you will never know ;)

Never get bored taking a tram down to St Kilda especially when there's a warm weather.
I used to live up Acland Street (there's where the lovely cafes and happening shops are) for a short period.
A street which meant a lot to me cuz there's where I met my love.

St Kilda, a diversity suburb which it can be very charming and so is very sad in the same time.
Charming cuz the local town council spent heaps of money here.
This is where the tourists would come, especially the Sunday market.
Apparently there's heaps of new buildings and more new restaurants
opened at both Fitzroy Street and Acland Street.

Sad cuz it can be very dirty and people get drunk and yelling on the street
(usually from Wednesday onward) during the night.
You can sometime hear people fighting...and Grey Street
(where's the red-light district) is just few streets up the road.
St Kilda, a must visit interesting place when you are in Melbourne.

So this is where I was up to over the weekend.

Random Found in the wee hours

Couldn't sleep (or was it don't want to sleep?? or was it over strengthing the brain cells??) after Peanut's midnight feed. I know, it's insane! But I can't help it! I guess I will just have to take the subconsequenbe feeling tired the next morning....

A big fan of playing with colors on top of the simplicity. This pad is in white...well use of colors to make the whole place look interesting and impact!

My Creative Space: Tippy Toe Bird + thoughts

First up, please ignore the sub-header for time being as am still mucking around doing some rearrangement in my blog.
* * * * * * * *
Anyways, it's My Creative Space once again!

Still remember I have set myself a daily challenge early this year. That was to create an art a day, multiply my day. Hmm, there should be about 128 days. So, you can imagine I have more than 100 pieces of masterpieces and they are waiting for me to execute them, to share it with you. Well, hopefully they are ready to be purchased very soon. Hopefully it can landed in some lovely buyers' house too! :D

I have shared a colorful sneak peek shot via here yesterday. I thought why not, share it all.
So this is the concept drawing I had done...
and again...this shot...;)
Please meet Tippy Toe Bird..
It is now available to be purchased on my Etsy's store :)

I have been sneaking in and out from the studio doing some creative works while juggling taking care of my 7 wks old girl (I relate her as Peanut in my blog).
An interesting question to ask:
Do you still/keep having dreams (and make it happen) even after having your own family?
I know I still do and I want to achieve what I have set for my dreams/goals ...even after giving birth. So yeah.. imagine multi-tasking one handed...typing away while having her sleeping on the shoulder or maybe nursing her while sitting in front of the computer or make a few clicks on the mouse while she is asleep like now or maybe either one of us having dinner while the other one taking care of the unsettle bub..... So, yeah....I may not be having as much freedom as I would like to have. To me, when there is a will there is a way. Everything is possible. I know am not alone cuz I know I can make it. It's just the matter of time, like how soon.

It's a bird!

Was meant to post this yesterday but was constantly being wanted by Peanut. So here you go! :D
This is what I was doing yesterday early morning.
1. I am very particular and specific when comes to finished print's colors (to have it as close as my screen's colors).

2. I also get to look into how to rearrange my blog's layout. I felt my skills had gone rusty after not hanging out in blogging land for so many weeks. Any ideas or tips on how to create more pages? It looks like those little additional features' buttons are gone. Or ..am I wrong? Please enlighten me if you could...

I've mentioned I will be relaunching my Etsy's store with a bunch of new stuffs late last week. I have different plans after some thoughts over the weekend. Mainly because I have to find time juggle amongst numerous tasks. Not easy.

Am always a big believer on Slow and Steady Win The Race. I think that is very important not to rush into things. So I thought, I would feel comfortable include a piece or 2 of my masterpieces into the store every week... just so I (well, Missy Minzy of course!) will be FULLY ready (hopefully with some lotsa good surprises too!!) by then. :)

My Creative Space: Am Back this week!

My precious girl..feeling tense in the little bath tub.. ;)
She is the reason why I have been absent from participating My Creative Space for weeks since Peanut was born. I thought why not, put some extra effort to post something up and being involved this week. :)
* * * * * * * *
This is my first art been sold.
I like the whole execution of it. I have started to develop the similar execution to other animals..I hope to bring you other kinds in this particular series.
For now, I can only share some sneak peek of the latest masterpiece with you but I cannot unveil too much how it looks like at this stage :D~ The main reason is, the new masterpiece will be part of the relaunching of my e-store and etc very soon. So, stay tune. :)

New Found Talent: Catalina Estrada

Some of you may now know that am big in pattern and texture. I have been doodling and collecting all sort of interesting shapes offline. It has inspired me in a lot of ways.

Today, I came across this interesting illustration by this fantastic virtual artist - Catalina Estrada thru LMNOP.
One of her work for PlayTimeParis
It's colorful. Vibrant. Alive. Fun. Playful. One of her work's style reminded me one of my old masterpiece, which I created for one of the major retailer in US. My former superior thought it wasn't really answer the brief but look at how Catalina transformed it! I felt somehow relief and content when knowing my style is actually still marketable and out there..if you know what I meant. Spend some time and look at her work. It is a lot of hard work creating all those lovely illustration alright! :D
