Madeit Online Find

New Prints

The screen colour does not look at best from here.
The prints' colour is so much stunning!
More to come...

Have meant to upload Missy Minzy's badges collection..will try to make time to do so sometime next week. Just finding hard to reserve time for myself as am planning to look for a job. I think I will be a happier mummy having a job (while juggling Missy Minzy). Oh, am definitely not ready to leave Peanut at daycare yet! Wish me luck!

It Does Not Really Matter

Haven't been able to write for weeks. Being involving in handmade industry is very different when comes to having market stall. It is like 2 complete different chapter altogether.

Am not perfect. As mentioned, am better on illustrating my feelings and thoughts instead of words. The lesser time I spent writing blog, the worst my grammar gets (I speak 5 languages and I mixed them up quite often these days). To top it off, I am making an effort speaking my mother language to Peanut ...and am hoping she can make me proud when we are flying home visiting my parents next year :)

As for blogs and creative wise, I tried to deliver as much I can whenever I can. It's not easy for me to pick up my pen and draw like old days or sitting here spending numerous hours browsing at what other talented crafters are doing neither. All this got to do with my baby girl is growing up..she is now 6 months old. She is getting more alert and always on a look for something to do (having her calling out for me while am writing this). She is making me feel so tired by the time she goes to bed at night. So, please forgive me if I sound short (and am getting careless too!) or missing in action getting on with my life. I hope you understand my situation.

I have done something for Peanut using my little illustration.
She seems to like it very much.
Flash Card for Little Ones

I have also spending Q-time story telling to her using my prints.
Flash Card I did for Peanut..
she smile everytime she sees it and wanted to chew it too ;)
She is my mega inspiration. Such amazing creature!

How funny things work out when you have less time being creative but more time to think in your own cave (at your own space). I think I had some sort of breakthrough during this time frame. In terms of how & where I want Missy Minzy to go for the Year 2011. It does not really matter with how many likers I have on FB (in fact am considering to shut down the page) nor in blogging land. Whatever I do and what plan lies beneath..one thing for sure is constantly happy and continue being inspired doing what am doing everyday (be lovely have more sales just so that I can earn those money invested). That is the key. That, should be the motivation.

Sweet #2
Have not been doing a lot of creating of late.
Mainly spending time watching Peanut growing.
We have now started her solid and she seems to enjoy it more and more.
Minzy Girl's Collection - Play Time
I like the Minzy Girl's Collection to be simple, clean and sweet.

Sweet #3
Was mucking around on this illustration awhile back but it did not work out well.
So I gave up and move onto the others. And am back this time, with this..
thought it looks good with the Missy Minzy's signature pattern and colours. Sweet.

ETA: (Forgotten to mention that you will see Missy Minzy at FFM, Williamstown this Sunday).

1st Madeit Online Finds

I have noticed there were a lot of people focus on Etsy's online find
and not so much on Aussie owned's Madeit online find.

I have to say the variety on Etsy is bigger (hello, from all around the world)
compared to Madeit (where all Aussie crafter owns).
There are actually quite a few good stuffs which
we might overlooked on Madeit's online store.
So there you go. This is my first shopping hunting on Madeit.

Hoping to encourage people like you and me who happened living in Australia
who make a living from making/creating crafts with a blog or 2 also shop on Madeit.
I happened to bump into her work when I was doing the Madeit search.
I recognise that character simply cuz there's a local business
who had commission her to get her logo done having the same character.
How cool is that! I would love to have similar commission work request like that.
I guess what draw me into her work is that I have Minzy Girl's collection.
And we happened to share similar likes when comes to duck with a ribbon?
Doily Porcelain Brooch by and o designs
I think I have seen 'and o designs' work somewhere (online store maybe?)..
just couldn't recall where. Her work is something I would buy and collect.

We were being featured...

There has been quite a few people like to blog about Missy Minzy. And Kellie from Kellie Christie is one of them. Kellie has a huge passion on making button jewellery has asked me to write something about me for her blog recently.
Missy Minzy being featured here
In my opinion, creative people who are good when comes to hands on work are usually not so fond talking about themself. And I happened to be one of them. I started blogging to record my day-to-day inspiration and my challenge. And I tried to blog as much as I can now that Peanut is with us. Just so you know am good on mixing my grammars given I speak 5 languages ;) I have noticed the older I get, the difficult I found writing about myself. I am better when comes to illustrations than words as mentioned in this blog's about..from the beginning. ;)

Anyways, I will leave you reading the little something about me via Kellie's blog. Do check out Kellie's button jewellery's range when you are on her site. Her works have developed so much comparing to her early collection.

New Books Purchased

I had an eye on 2 of this books when I was at one of the local shop few weeks ago.
It's just that I do not want to pay the RRP! :P So, what I did was to shop online!
And I found that Amazon is selling cheaper than Fishpond.
Thank goodness for strong Aussie Dollar! :))
So it finally arrived sometime this week.
Was doing the giddyup dancing when the parcel arrived :))
Print & Pattern!! WOOHOO!!

I get to know about Print & Pattern when I started blogging, say 1 year ago?
Her collection of Print & Pattern from all around the world blew me away...big time.
This is a MUST HAVE book especially if you are a graphic designer.
I was finding hard to describe what exactly inspired me
when a blogging friend wants me to write something
about me on her blog sometime this week.

The author of Print & Pattern - Marie Perkins and I shared
similar inspiration and she described this in her book this way..

"Mention to someone that you are a surface pattern designer and you will probably receive a blank look of confusion. Perhaps they will hear the word 'pattern' and think you design patterns for clothing, or that by 'surface' you are referring to the different types of finish used in building and decorating trades. Either way, they won't realize you are a graphic designer, illustrator, textile designer and more, all rolled into one. Pretty much anything you see in the marketplace that has a printed design on it will have been through the hands of a surface designer. The plates you eat from, the fabric of your tablecloth, the design on your rug, your curtains, wallpaper, cushions, handbags, wrapping paper, birthday card, and so much more, any product with a surface print or pattern on it is part of this often overlooked form of design."

Illustration Book Pro 02
I had the 01 and loved it! Of course I will have to get onto 02 when I get the chance! :)
I have not get the chance to flip this book yet cuz my hands are on Print & Pattern still. lol
