The Finders Keepers Markets

Dockland
Lovely sunny weather is here to visit Melbourne! We have been busy with heaps of outdoor activities this weekend. Missed and loving the sun since the long winter! I have came to realize that I love winter given I was born in a tropical weather country. I do not know why lol. Maybe cuz I can dress up with layers and layers. I also love to match with all sort of patterns and textile (even they are missed match but they create lovely oddness attraction!) :D
We were at the Finders Keepers Markets (FKM) in Melbourne on Saturday.
Heaps of talented people at the market.
To me, being able to be involving at FKM is big deal!
I wasn't ready for Melbourne's first FKM since
Peanut is relatively new to us (20 weeks now I supposed?).
I believe a few more markets and accumulating
more experience will get me more ready.
I believe I will get there when the next FKM coming to Melbourne again. Watch me!

ETA: (Please ignore the date of this post as I had too many draft post on my blog and I have actually lost count.)

How was your weekend?

I hope you had a good weekend. As for us, Melbourne has been having a fabulous sunny weather for the last few days, which was awesome to do something outdoor in such a chill weather (it's winter here btw).
We took the tram..to St Kilda
Saw heaps of people screaming and having fun on the ride at the Luna Park.
We also saw some people roller skating along the esplanade...and bike riding too.
there's heaps of yachts at the pier.
probably not the good weather for this at the moment.. but you will never know ;)

Never get bored taking a tram down to St Kilda especially when there's a warm weather.
I used to live up Acland Street (there's where the lovely cafes and happening shops are) for a short period.
A street which meant a lot to me cuz there's where I met my love.

St Kilda, a diversity suburb which it can be very charming and so is very sad in the same time.
Charming cuz the local town council spent heaps of money here.
This is where the tourists would come, especially the Sunday market.
Apparently there's heaps of new buildings and more new restaurants
opened at both Fitzroy Street and Acland Street.

Sad cuz it can be very dirty and people get drunk and yelling on the street
(usually from Wednesday onward) during the night.
You can sometime hear people fighting...and Grey Street
(where's the red-light district) is just few streets up the road.
St Kilda, a must visit interesting place when you are in Melbourne.

So this is where I was up to over the weekend.

Challenge Day 106, 107 & 108 - 2 more...

Boom Boom Owl can be purchased here
Pedal Me Away can be purchased at my Etsy shop too... :)

A long weekend with not much of creative happening at my creative space other than spending heaps of time doing the last minute shopping for Peanut and spring cleaning around the pad. I have been able to get some decent deep sleep of late, which is a good thing I reckon!

A quick update on the latest development on Peanut's growing, if you care... ;)
As some of you might have know that am diagnosed GD at week 28 and had to monitor my BSL since then. So the doctor had arranged a US appointment for me to attend this week. Apparently Peanut is growing healthy and her weight is all under control. That is something positive to know. :)

Just in case if you ever see me missing in action for more than a week. You should be well aware that I would be at the hospital and be offline for awhile ;) Thank you Kylie for your support and loves by checking on me. Really appreciate that! XX

Challenge Day 99 - What you think?

I have to say I stole this pix from a gf's gf...
I hope she is ok with that.. :D
Weekend:: Sunny weather in Melbourne this weekend. Spent a lot of time indoor mainly cuz Mr Minzy is not feeling well. Quite bizarre to know that I have a lot of energy running around doing a lot of things given am 36 wks pg.

What you think? ::
So this is the real scenario what happen to me at one of the social gathering I attended recently.

Somebody: What are you selling?
Me: Having a lot of ideas and at current, am focusing on selling my hand-drawn illustration and giclee print (and etc) for time being.
Somebody: There's a lot of people are doing that too.
Me: *smile*

Will that stop you from doing what you want to do/are doing just because you are ALSO another graphic designer and illustrator in the industry?
I have always believe that art is a very personal thing. Everyone has their own style. Some might like your work, some might not.

In conclusion: No. I don't. However, I strongly believe with my rather new involvement in this handmade market would definitely get some excitement in the industry so to speak. And based on my personal experience (back to the convo above), people who said that are usually lack of self esteem and still trying to find their feet to land somewhere...

Challenge Day 78 & 79 - Creative Updates

custom made envelope..night shot hence the odd lighting....
one of the baby shower's concept...
Here's some updates from my creative studio. I have been tied up with both creative adventure from my studio and my personal life. The busier I get, the more I felt as if I was back to workplace, just like old days. Quite a funny feeling isn't it? One thing I have learnt for the past few days was I have to step out from the studio and do something if I ever get bored. Note to self: Doing so is good for you!..... before you get bonkers! :D

I have been spending quite some time custom make my own envelope while building my portfolio up and running. The creative challenge seems never ending. My intuition was like telling me stop drawing and do more digital work please hey! You have to know that it is now Challenge Day 79 and imagine how many concept sketching I have drawn so far. They are all waiting for me to make them into another masterpiece of mine.

Meanwhile, I have noticed there has been some changes on how the way I draw. Not sure is that a good change or a bad change. Maybe needs to take a break and do something different. Maybe....

Web. Soft Toy.

Interestingly I thought 3 columns page for Missy Minzy's Insanity World would look better. I look and ponder on it for awhile. Still prefer the 2 columns. Not so cramp. Easier to read. Next thing will have to muck around on how to load a page for the background. Aha!

Had a somewhat eventful weekend. Most of all was manage to get some poly fill for MORE soft toy making. Might bring some on the road to vast West very soon. Trust me. It was very addictive to finishing it the night when I reached home.
