New Prints

The Wonderland Estate

All things castle and palace. Hot air balloons in the air.
This illustration contents almost all of the colours I like.
Very different from my usual style.
Love You To The Moon And Back

This is a custom order for one of my customer.
She saw my "Love You Long Time" print and loving the style and colours.
She contacted me and wanting me to make her
a custom print with "Love You To The Moon and Back".
It's a gift for her daughter. I bet it looks good in her room.
What a lucky girl!
Dance In The Rain

A combination of my 2 illustrations. It looks good I thought.
Mucking around with inspirational quote with my illustration.
Some looks great some just looks meh {at times} :P

After creating so many illustration and/or prints...
I think Missy Minzy's style should remains bright and colourful.
I have tried pastel colour and mute pallette's colours but it just doesn't gel.
I have been itching to go back to water colouring.
So strange that how a new bub can change how you see things differently.

Update & Recent Works

Hello, I haven't forgotten about this space.
I have been back here on and off wanting to write a post
but couldn't find the time finishing it off.
Hence, more posts have been parking in the draft box.

Anyways, I have intention to show you more of my recent work.
My style and direction has somehow changed.
I felt different when I was creating them.
I also feel that I am drifting away from the old self,
as in how I was being inspired when I was pregnant with Peanut.
Yes, I drew a lot of quirky mushrooms and Minzy Girl's little adventure.
Right now, it seems to be more light, liveful, still colourful..
I have realized I am spending more time wanting to do more decorating Peanut's room again.
So you are most likely to see more nursery theme related (maybe not??) coming through.

These are some of my recent works which I have been created since the last post in blogging land.
Alphabet Range - Whale
Playing with texture (unfortunately you can't see the detail from here).
The colour of this print is rather more aqua blue-greenish.
The whole approach of this illustration is light and pastel..soothing to look at.
Still working on a few more alphabet as we speak..

 Everything Is Floating
At last, a new mushroom print to be included in Y2012.
I like how the school of fish are swimming at the bottom of this illustration.
It's kind of make it looks alive and bubbly I thought. :)

Close up of "Everything Is Floating"
Swing To My Lou
New Minzy Girl's print to be added for the Y2012.
My black and white of this illustration was just Minzy Girl sitting on the swing.
Took me quite a fair bit of time producing this illustration for some reason.
While I'm on here...just to let you know I have now downgrade my Platinum plan
I was with BigCartel to the basic 5 products.
So if you like to see more of my work and like to purchase some of them.
Feel free to visit my Madeit and Etsy's store.

Adios for now!

New Prints

The screen colour does not look at best from here.
The prints' colour is so much stunning!
More to come...

Have meant to upload Missy Minzy's badges collection..will try to make time to do so sometime next week. Just finding hard to reserve time for myself as am planning to look for a job. I think I will be a happier mummy having a job (while juggling Missy Minzy). Oh, am definitely not ready to leave Peanut at daycare yet! Wish me luck!

Sweet #2
Have not been doing a lot of creating of late.
Mainly spending time watching Peanut growing.
We have now started her solid and she seems to enjoy it more and more.
Minzy Girl's Collection - Play Time
I like the Minzy Girl's Collection to be simple, clean and sweet.

Sweet #3
Was mucking around on this illustration awhile back but it did not work out well.
So I gave up and move onto the others. And am back this time, with this..
thought it looks good with the Missy Minzy's signature pattern and colours. Sweet.

ETA: (Forgotten to mention that you will see Missy Minzy at FFM, Williamstown this Sunday).

That cloud in Missy Minzy's World

Waking up to a wet weather in Melbourne this morning. However my mood is actually feeling lighter. Probably it got to do with It's Friday!? Having the thought of making some soft toy. No idea what to make at this moment. Maybe it's a good way of spending time with Peanut while watching her learning how to roll for a change :)

I just realized I have not introduce to you one of my recent work.
Please meet my "Very Cloudy". It's 8 x 10".
This is how the clouds look like when it's Very Cloudy in Missy Minzy's World.
Was thinking white or black frame (I like simple frame).
Though black frame makes this print look outstanding.

It's a shame that the screen could not show you
how beautiful the colour is in real life.
It will be available on Madeit soon.

Sneak Peek Shots

Yes, am still alive and I have not gone with the wind as yet. ;) My week has been v full on. Peanut seems to be more alert these days. She took up a lot of my time and energy during the day. and I tend to feel tired after dinner (she has gone to bed by then). So it is good to finally get the chance to post something.

It's time for some sneak peek shots over here again.
was playing with some lino print again.
had this block craved by myself when I first started this blog.
always a fan of making all things handmade or/and handprinted. :)

Please Don't Eat Me (8 x 10 inches) in lino print.
Original lino print. Only 2 available.
It won't be on sales online at the moment.
Please leave a comment if you like to purchase one.

Tree of life (8 x 10 inches) in lino print.
Only 7 copies available to be purchased. They are all original lino prints.
It's not an easy process to make from home,
especially having my newborn laying around where am working.
So, I won't be making them in the near future again.
Please leave a comment if you like to purchase any of them.

Yes! Missy Minzy has greeting cards' version too! :)
The only 100 pieces of 5 x 7 inches giclee greeting card!

Greeting Cards... :)

In the wood series No.4 (8 x 10 inches)
Taken from one of my original sketches..
and No.4 is just one of the execution.

By the way you might be wondering how come some are not available to be purchased etc. There's 2 more weeks before Fairy Floss Markets' arriving (on 3rd October). Hence the busy-ness and won't have time to list and etc. Busy expanding my current range and so is building up my stock for my first market!! :) Be happy for me please. :)

Will be unveiling more of Minzy Girl's series tomorrow. Do remember to pop by if you like to know what she's been up to in Missy Minzy's World, tomorrow. :)

Challenge Day 115 - FYI

Missy Minzy's custom handmade arts and designs will soon be available for purchasing in AUD and not just USD...

Was out and about up the hospital/clinic first half of the day today. Left the afternoon doing my own thing..which means the gloomy weather Melbourne. So not good for photo shooting for some of my artwork listing..

Wish me better luck tomorrow! :)

Challenge Day 101 - Art Swap Project

I have 2 invitations to join an "Art Swap Project" this week...where one has to invite 6 of your friends to participate.

I like to participate but I don't have enough friends whom I like to invite. So I like to invite some of the blogging land mates to join the fun too! :)

You will only need to send out 1 piece of art and be receiving 36 pieces of art at the end of the time frame...as long as you don't break the circle. The 1 piece of art can be a little drawing, a print, a comic or a zine, a photo, a felted creation, a beaded thing... Whatever fits your niche and mood, and can be dropped in the mail within a week (or something like that...).

Please leave a comment if you would also like to participate. So that I can forward you more detail via email.
With much love! XX

Challenge Day 95 & 96 - Props n PhotoShoot Days

No more summer's sunshine in Melbourne but only winter's gloomy in Melbourne! So the only spot which I can catch a lot of sun is actually in my studio (a tiny little space).

As you can see that I am having a new domain name. Missy Minzy will now be the new me. Hence the new blog's header. I have been very busy in the studio. Setting up the props, taking heaps of picture of my work, experimenting some of my artwork with some creative designs ;) ...of course, rebranding my blog..

In short, My Creative Space is very messy this week. You will know what I mean after looking at those pictures below....
On the right hand side of my working desk...
some experiment samples laying on the floor...next to where am sitting...
These are some of the props I was mucking around with during the photoshoot
Hey, I just realized I have a pincushion too! Hehe...
Something I learnt: I reckon I need to get some decent props to match with my masterpieces after mucking around with the props and photo shooting in my studio. :)
My digital camera couldn't capture the actual orange red color which I like to show you..
hence you are looking at 2 different red.
I made this awhile ago...and I have no idea what to do with them. Initially I thought of making them into tea towel or maybe frame it up on the stretched canvas frame. I do not know what to do with it because of the odd size they are in. Any suggestion?

Head over to Kirsty's place for more creative talents lovely people out there... Happy Thursday everyone! :)

Challenge Day 89 Part III - Creative Strikes

It must be your lucky day today! I have decided to show you one of my masterpiece in detail..in fact they are all my work in progress work. I hope you enjoy every piece of them cuz I enjoy drawing and creating them myself! This artwork will be on sales at etsy store v soon! :D
Working in progress....
Some details...
masterpiece with white border...
I think this illustration looks better without border...what you reckon?
I should have include this into this week's My Creative Space. Anyways, it's all good. :)

Challenge Day 89 - My Creative Space 8

As some of you may have know that I have set a 3 months challenge for myself, where I create an art a day to multiply my day. As I mentioned from my post here that I will continue the challenge until the day Peanut is born.

I have a confession to made. I am Ms Perfectionist where I like to make sure everything is well executed, looking pretty and professional..just like old days (I was a professional graphic designer before the redundancy and now being a stay-home-mum-to-be). So being a Ms Perfectionist setting up my little store on etsy...it takes time. I just realized that listing takes up time! Oh - the more I create, the more I noticed my initial direction is 'running away' from being just black and white (from my hand-drawn illustration). I guess it's a good thing eh? It's coming together.
some of my masterpiece
color testing wall..kinda ;)
I had accomplished the challenge on taking up Mr Minzy's challenge yesterday. I now have another 10 pieces of masterpiece (digitalize my existing hand-drawn illustrations) into 'ready to print/sell' box. Today will be the day of color testing, printing them and framing them up. Just finger crossed that I will have a better light in the lounge to take pretty picture.. :)
Which one would you prefer:
With or without the white border around?
I am crossed between to create an art with white border around or to fill it up in full. Which one would you prefer?

Head over to Kirsty's place for more creative talents lovely people out there... Happy Thursday everyone! :)

Challenge Day 83 Part II - Breakthrough

Well, was meant to write a bio. I did wrote a little bit of myself..and I get distracted when I started looking at some of my masterpiece. And so I started to muck around ...re-layouting...designing...photo montaging them. Holly Molly! It turned out to be quite alright. I can consider I am having a huge breakthrough today!

The only thing which turned me off is that I need to test print them for a few round to get the color I wanted. Am not sure will I be able to calibrate my printer to print as per what I saw from my monitor. So that is the only down side. Otherwise, I reckon I have quite a blast time working away at the studio today.

Challenge Day 82 - My Creative Space 7 (Da Wrong Side)

Greeting everyone!
Welcome to my workspace once again!

It's Thursday again...it's time for My Creative Space!
Am having difficulty sleeping hence the early working at the studio in the wee hour this morning...:D
* * * * * * * *
I just realized my studio's light is too dim to work at night. I still prefer to work in the studio during day time where I can utilize the sunlight. The color is MUCH accurate.
Printed on the wrong side...dunno what I was thinking..gone bonkers maybe ;)
Reprint Reprint Reprint...
I have to reprint one of them cuz I had the paper on the wrong side up. Duh!
Aha....color is so much brighter and fresher now!
Note to self: Look before click the print button. lol
Oh well, lesson learnt very well! :S
Me being brave showing you the end result of my masterpiece.. :)
If you like seeing what you are looking...see the Part II here.
