Flood Appeal Auctions - QLD

Hi. I was away for too long and I do not know how to make the come back with a bang like I wish I could. So I thought I should just do it!

You would have known there was/is a flood happening in Queensland, Australia. According to the local news reporter that almost 75% of QLD was flooded. How sad. Some lost their home..that can be replaced. But how about the love ones? I can't help but to feel sorry and worry for those who affected in QLD. Meanwhile, the rain has been pouring here in Melbourne too. Look at what had happened, click here.

Minzy Girl - What A Day
That said, I was very happy to see a few business pages are doing the Flood Appeal Auctions for the affected people in Queensland. I felt my contribution seems small after winning a bidding auction from one of the FB's page. I wanna help, more than this. So I have decided to donate one of my work. Hopefully Minzy Girl will make raise lots of money to help those affected by the floods. Click here for more information.

This will be added once the bid reach AUD50 or/and more!
Given I am a full time working at home mum. Money is always an issue for us. Mind you, am eating my saving doing all this Missy Minzy's business. But this is the little achievement of my dream. To some, they need to start all over again. So if you have the time sitting in front of the computer reading this..why not duck over have a look at other albums and do some bidding, help a cause. Together we make a difference. x

The Finders Keepers Markets

Dockland
Lovely sunny weather is here to visit Melbourne! We have been busy with heaps of outdoor activities this weekend. Missed and loving the sun since the long winter! I have came to realize that I love winter given I was born in a tropical weather country. I do not know why lol. Maybe cuz I can dress up with layers and layers. I also love to match with all sort of patterns and textile (even they are missed match but they create lovely oddness attraction!) :D
We were at the Finders Keepers Markets (FKM) in Melbourne on Saturday.
Heaps of talented people at the market.
To me, being able to be involving at FKM is big deal!
I wasn't ready for Melbourne's first FKM since
Peanut is relatively new to us (20 weeks now I supposed?).
I believe a few more markets and accumulating
more experience will get me more ready.
I believe I will get there when the next FKM coming to Melbourne again. Watch me!

ETA: (Please ignore the date of this post as I had too many draft post on my blog and I have actually lost count.)

How was your weekend?

I hope you had a good weekend. As for us, Melbourne has been having a fabulous sunny weather for the last few days, which was awesome to do something outdoor in such a chill weather (it's winter here btw).
We took the tram..to St Kilda
Saw heaps of people screaming and having fun on the ride at the Luna Park.
We also saw some people roller skating along the esplanade...and bike riding too.
there's heaps of yachts at the pier.
probably not the good weather for this at the moment.. but you will never know ;)

Never get bored taking a tram down to St Kilda especially when there's a warm weather.
I used to live up Acland Street (there's where the lovely cafes and happening shops are) for a short period.
A street which meant a lot to me cuz there's where I met my love.

St Kilda, a diversity suburb which it can be very charming and so is very sad in the same time.
Charming cuz the local town council spent heaps of money here.
This is where the tourists would come, especially the Sunday market.
Apparently there's heaps of new buildings and more new restaurants
opened at both Fitzroy Street and Acland Street.

Sad cuz it can be very dirty and people get drunk and yelling on the street
(usually from Wednesday onward) during the night.
You can sometime hear people fighting...and Grey Street
(where's the red-light district) is just few streets up the road.
St Kilda, a must visit interesting place when you are in Melbourne.

So this is where I was up to over the weekend.

Name Searching+Cold Melbourne

Name searching for this design which I have done not too long ago. Any suggestion? :)

Do you like winter? It is no doubt MORE grey and gloomy. I read some article from somewhere said that people tend to feel gloomy & depress during winter. So, are you really sure you like winter? I used to like winter but probably not so much this year. The arrival of Peanut really consuming a lot of my time..that including posting a post in here ;) Believe it or not. I am always wanted by Peanut whenever I clicked on "new post". As if it was a jinx to click on that button! Heh :) I hope to get out and do more things...hopefully not that cold.. :S

Speaking of which, I get the chance to tiptoeing do more things today again. I managed to look at some designs. Also spent some time do a bit of planning on how and when I want to reopen my Etsy's store (when am ready, of course!). Stalking some bloggers' blogs...some mates' facebook updates...also get the chance to make a proper meal. Slowly getting back on track.....it's all good :)

Challenge Day 102 - Not myself

Didn't feel quite myself today. I have no idea how come am feeling this way.

Maybe it is true, just like the stormy weather in Melbourne last night? Lightning and gone, and lightning and gone again...It felt as if mother earth was having some lightning party in the sky last night.

Maybe, been feeling a little bit frustrating on something which I WISH I know what it is...

Maybe am tired...tired of being pg?? tired of being what? I don't know...

I was trying to put on my Creative Hat earlier..hrm, tough luck today. Nothing seems to look perfect or right in my eyes. I guess my creative juice is running low today. How's your day been? Hopefully it's a lot better than mine!

Challenge Day 94 - is it possible?

I like to spend my whole day (without any interrupt) to complete my to-do-list's tasks. Hrm, looks like it's quite impossible to make it today again. Isn't it annoying?
Anyways, where's the sun when you need them the most? Anyone having any luck to take a good shot of your artwork during this gloomy weather?

Challenge Day 92 -Sunday Updates

Today is a creative day without having any creativity done. ;)

A gf of mine - Helen offered to host a baby shower for me before Peanut is born. Very nice of her! So today is the day!
I baked some Chocolate Chip Cookies to bring it over to my Baby Shower
and also baked Peach, Yogurt & Almond cake too...
Yes. I like baking and I enjoy baking. Cuz they bring smile to friends that I care and love...just like how I want to convey my message through my art too. :)
Melbourne had a very weird weather today. Few seconds of rains. Stopped. Few seconds of sunshine. Stopped. Then gutsy wind. Stopped. Rain drops again. Stopped. Heaps of fun and laughters were made non-stop no matter how dramatic the weather was in Melbourne today.
Helen bought this softie bear for me.
She reckon the bear bear looks like a Peanut shape.
Hey, that's so true! LOL
Peanut was the name I call my little one in me... :*~
So this is my first baby shower I ever attended and it's my own. So happy to catch up with some very long lost gfs...not to forget those lovely gifts too. I guess everyone enjoyed themselves. :)

Challenge Day 56 Pt II - Massive Hail Storm in Melbourne

The window screen at the lounge was damaged.
Mr Minzy took all this photos when the massive hail storm happening to our pad when I was out and about this arvo. 2 of our room's window screen (which facing the West) were damaged because of the hail storm.

* * * * * *
I wish I was having my digital camera with me when I was out and about with my gf in Carlton today. We were both feeling very LUCKY (am serious) that we had decided not to wandering around at the shop district but heading to our car just when we saw the sun was gone and dark clouds and breeze wind coming through..

We had to pull over and park under the tree when the massive hail storm happening. My gf was feeling very paranoid (she was screaming while me sitting quietly and calm on the other hand. LOL!) when the whole thing happened cuz the hail ice was so huge and it hit on the windscreen so hard. And here we thought our car had been attacked by some nasty kid with stones! Doh!

My gf asked me after the hail storm incident much later "How come you looked so calm? Don't you feel afraid?" I looked at her and grin. "Well, of course am afraid but I can't be joining you screaming when all you needed was actually having someone to calm you down and making you feel OK, comfort and safe eh?" ;)

The Family here wishing you Happiest New Year 2010!

I had a very quiet NYE with Mr Minzy before year 2010 arriving. It was just the 2 of us hopping and wiggling around at our pad with simple mind and simple wishes that evening. We had a very spectacular thunder storm in Melbourne that evening. For the both of us love and enjoy natural. That had got both of us excited for a bit witnessing all those spectacular lighting going around for at least 10 mins?

I have been spending some time on my day-to-day's inspiring browsing during this quiet time. Found more inspiring creative like minded for the past few days (mainly craft wise and home decor). Most of them are very talented! Will share with you some talent found in the next few posts.

Anyways, I hope you had a great NYE and getting ready for a fabulous 365 days to come! Cuz Year 2010 will be a spectacular year for everybody!
I get the feeling Year 2010 will be a great year for Mr Minzy and myself. Definitely a great-taking-the-plunge year of new adventure for Missy Minzy's world. Watch out for the new additions ;)
