Had some breakthrough doodling this by accident this arvo

I have to admit I haven't been very active on Etsy as a seller.
I have made 2 sales so far. So, I have decided to have a mini sale

All to celebrate my upcoming 2nd anniversary
(I missed out celebrating my 1st anniversary this time
last year cuz my parents were here to visit from oversea!)

to Japan after living in Chicago for many years.
Her tea towel is soft and light, 100% cotton Japanese imabari towel.
Hence it absorbs great and drys quickly, which always a plus.

My Creative Space - My First Market + Recent Works

Today is the day announcing the good news which I have kept quiet for few weeks.

I have big ambition for Missy Minzy before the Year 2011 arrives. I want it to grow, so that I can continue to be WAHM (working at home mum)...like for good! So I have actually submitted an application hoping to have my first market selling my products range early this month. You got it right. I'd scored my first market at Fairy Floss Markets and it's going to be held in October 3rd, this year! :)

The newest Boutique Handmade Babies and Children's Market
...will be launching in Melbourne on 3rd October 2010!
It has actually making me v busy as am expanding my products range. Imagine you have heaps of concept works laying around and all you need is to find the time to make it happen while juggling taking care of Peanuts? Not an easy task. But I know I can make it. :)

Alternatively, click here to look at my recent work above..

Missy Minzy in BigCartel (AUD$)

I have just updated my neglected BigCartel's store with most of my Mushy World Series works. It is basic, at least is heading somewhere. Hrm.. I might sign up for some local site for the local (the Australian!) to buy my work instead of parking my works at Etsy. Yes, you can tell I am getting serious about Missy Minzy. There is so much to do and I really do not know where to begin from.

It was tough being creative since Peanuts was throwing tantrum at me today. Ah, I supposed it's the transition from her bassinet to the cot bed phrase. I hope it gets better. Hrm.. I am due for a dateline having some decent product shots for my store. It's not easy to take a decent shot when you having Melbourne crazy weather. The sun comes out for 5 minutes and then the sky pissing rain for the next 10 minutes and then the sun is out again...meh~

An overview of my newest range ACEO Limited Edition Print at my shop

I've decided to tag along with Lauren Alexander's fun this month:
August is ACEO month!
So what is ACEO? ACEO stands for Art Card Editions & Originals. ACEOs are miniature original art at affordable price. It is only 2.5" x 3.5" in size. They are highly collectible. They are also good for framing, displaying, scrapbooking, giving as gifts and much more!
D for Duck is now available to be purchased.
I have included some of my latest illustration into the ACEO range in line to kick off the whole new range. As it is a new range and am only producing 10 pieces for each ACEO illustration print. So all of my ACEO prints are limited edition only! I am offering FREE SHIPPING for every ACEO Limited Edition Print purchase this month. And you are invited to wander at Missy Minzy's store for more details. :)

Bright Forest will be available for purchasing v soon
I am currently working on MORE new works to be included into my Giclee Fine Art Print collection. It's about time to expand my work and hopefully they will go places! Looks like I might have to cut down time spent on Facebook and spend more quality time in order to produce MORE quality works to be sold.

My Creative Space

My Creative Space this week has quite a few copy writing in my plate which I need to catch up.
But all I want to do now is...
put my legs up while sipping my warm chocolate drink with a few cookies...and read my magazine! ;)
Am enjoying my ME TIME while Peanut is well asleep. Bliss! :D~

New Print - Stems of Mushy Love

I have been feeling guilty for haven't been very active in my blog of late. I have written quite a few posts and they are all sitting in my drafting mailbox (always wanted by Peanut) awaiting for me to complete them. It can be tiring looking after a newborn for a newbie mum. I do my best, hop on here working on some creative works whenever she is asleep. That is the ME TIME I looking forward to dive into it on daily basis.

Had this done a week or so. Just needed to give a whimsical name to be completed. Glad to find a name for this masterpiece, finally.. :)
Stems of Mushy Love
is now available to be purchased here.

My Creative Space: Peacock

So this is one of my concept sketching which I had done during my challenge days. Hoping to finish this before end of the week. Lots to do when you have to juggle with a 10 weeks old baby. You sometime just have to find time to be able to sit down and do all the things which you used to enjoy doing it. To be honest, I reckon am finding it a bit difficult to juggle doing all that this week. Maybe I just have too much going on in my plate at the moment.
Yes, it is a Peacock!
Will hope to unveil the end result of this masterpiece very soon. :)

Oh, another sneak peek on what I have done of late.
Just need a name to go with it before listing it on Etsy's store.

Don't forget to pop over to My Creative Space to discover what others are up to at their creative space. X

Random Found in the wee hours

Couldn't sleep (or was it don't want to sleep?? or was it over strengthing the brain cells??) after Peanut's midnight feed. I know, it's insane! But I can't help it! I guess I will just have to take the subconsequenbe feeling tired the next morning....

A big fan of playing with colors on top of the simplicity. This pad is in white...well use of colors to make the whole place look interesting and impact!

It is always interesting to know what other talents are up to. They have really inspired me a lot. It also gave great perspective how and what others are showcasing their works.

I stumbled into this fantastic talent - Intres via Etsy.
Her works put a big smile on my face. It's funny and cute. :)
love this brooch! :)

Missy Minzy is in the MushRoomLand..

eat mushroom. sleep mushroom. dream mushroom...Missy Minzy is in the mushroomland...

Been spending quite a bit of time in the Mushy World (on my conceptual sketching) since Thursday. Quite happy with the progress so far. Simply cuz I did not expect I can really find the time doing all this! I think sharing and listing an art or 2 each week via here & my Etsy's store might work! =)

For now, happy to share one of the masterpiece (need to do more tweaking) with you...

Which one do you prefer?
Option #1: The Blue Trunk with white frame?
Option #2: The Yellow Trunk + raindrop with white frame?
Option #3: The Yellow Trunk + raindrop with Black frame?

As usual, it will be listed in Etsy really soon! :)

It's a bird!

Was meant to post this yesterday but was constantly being wanted by Peanut. So here you go! :D
This is what I was doing yesterday early morning.
1. I am very particular and specific when comes to finished print's colors (to have it as close as my screen's colors).

2. I also get to look into how to rearrange my blog's layout. I felt my skills had gone rusty after not hanging out in blogging land for so many weeks. Any ideas or tips on how to create more pages? It looks like those little additional features' buttons are gone. Or ..am I wrong? Please enlighten me if you could...

I've mentioned I will be relaunching my Etsy's store with a bunch of new stuffs late last week. I have different plans after some thoughts over the weekend. Mainly because I have to find time juggle amongst numerous tasks. Not easy.

Am always a big believer on Slow and Steady Win The Race. I think that is very important not to rush into things. So I thought, I would feel comfortable include a piece or 2 of my masterpieces into the store every week... just so I (well, Missy Minzy of course!) will be FULLY ready (hopefully with some lotsa good surprises too!!) by then. :)

Name Searching+Cold Melbourne

Name searching for this design which I have done not too long ago. Any suggestion? :)
* * * * * * * *
Do you like winter? It is no doubt MORE grey and gloomy. I read some article from somewhere said that people tend to feel gloomy & depress during winter. So, are you really sure you like winter? I used to like winter but probably not so much this year. The arrival of Peanut really consuming a lot of my time..that including posting a post in here ;) Believe it or not. I am always wanted by Peanut whenever I clicked on "new post". As if it was a jinx to click on that button! Heh :) I hope to get out and do more things...hopefully not that cold.. :S

Speaking of which, I get the chance to tiptoeing do more things today again. I managed to look at some designs. Also spent some time do a bit of planning on how and when I want to reopen my Etsy's store (when am ready, of course!). Stalking some bloggers' blogs...some mates' facebook updates...also get the chance to make a proper meal. Slowly getting back on track.....it's all good :)

Challenge Day 128 - Hello!

These are some online shopping I did awhile ago...which I quite like it. Just haven't really get the time to sit down and post it.
Just so you know, I am a big fan of toadstool. I have a huge collection of drawing from my sketching which are focusing on anything toadstool or I sometime call them mushy in my little world. :) Anyways, found some of this early morning...
* * * * * * * *
Am still around... lol I believe not too long to go...

Just have the strong urge to log online and get distracting from over thinking of when is Peanut's coming etc. I found it quite relaxing sitting in front of the computer after not being creative for days. I somehow have MORE ideas and MORE designs needed to be design away. I supposed it's a good sign for myself.
* * * * * * * *
FYI, I have closed my Etsy's shop for time being. I hope to reopen the store approximately 4 weeks or longer. Let's hope I manage to juggle with MORE relatives' visiting next month and my precious..just so I can get back to blogging land very soon.

So, what do you think about them? Will list them on Etsy for sales very soon.

Today is the day..packing my studio away. As my parents be arriving early next week. And soon will be my lovely Peanut. Felt rather sad packing all the work I have achieved so far. As this is my 2nd time putting my dreams on hold. I do not know how soon will I be able to get back on track doing this again.

I was just telling Kylie from Chasing Purple Dream that it's quite amazing to know what others think what you can only do/achieve when you are going to have a bub real soon.

To me, every woman should still chasing their dreams and goals before and after having your own family. It is important to be yourself even when circumstances have changed. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to being able to have our own child and all that jazz. It's just that the achievement of having something you own while you still enjoy doing what you love is something which money cannot buy... Now that is SOMETHING!

Challenge Day 116 - Busy+Pain

There have been a lot of things happening at the studio today. Hence, it took me a bit longer than how I initiated to update my daily post today.

Firstly, Missy Minzy's first Mini Party Bunting is now available to be purchase at Etsy.

Colourful mini party bunting is hanging on the wall
Yellow Mini Party Flag
This cutesy packaging was custom made and designed by me!
* * * * * * * *
Secondly, am not coping very well with this constantly-annoying-heartburn been attacking me of late. I knew it's common for preggie woman but it has been killing me..up to my nerve. I just want to end this heartburn pain..at the soonest. That would means I will have to pop very soon then, am I? That would be headache. I don't think am ready for Peanut to pop. Am scared...but I SO want to welcome and see her..so much!! Grr. Am tearing for her before seeing her already. Must be ♥!

I have received a surprise parcel today. Will post that in the next post. :)

Challenge Day 112, 113 & 114 - Busy Bumble Bee

Well, there was a long to do list over the weekend..and I don't usually very active in my blog any of the weekend neither. It's just that my EDD is approaching and I really feel that my ME time is coming to an end. And, my parents will be with us early next week. So excited on their visiting! :)

* * * * * * * *
As some of you may have know that I have received my first order last week. I think I might have under estimate my shipping cost on that particular size. So am going to make some adjustment on that. Just so I can cover my cost in the near future. Everyday is a new learning day for me. Am not perfect. So, just learnt from the mistakes while tagging along.. :)
Boom Boom Owl was my first print being ordered. :)
DIY wrapping paper..for special occasion.
I really think my first buyer was a very lucky one!! I have been waiting for the BIG day to spoil that special someone with my first ever wrapping paper ever since I started Missy Minzy. :) I won't unveil too much of a detail just in case she decided to hop onto my blog and check me out. LOL!

Other than that, I was really having a ball wrapping them up! I hope the buyer will like it! :)

* * * * * * * *
Some of you may have received an invitation (from your circular friends) to participate invite 6 of your friends to join in the art swap project. More details from here. I read it somewhere that the drop out rate was rather high compared to other common swap. Well, I really like to receive something from the others even I may not be able to receive all 36 pieces (if everyone participating). So I actually sent 2 of my artworks out. Hoping someone will send something to me...somehow. Otherwise, it's all good. I hope my artworks/prints will cheer them up and make their day cuz I really enjoy packing it and sending it to them. :)

Alrighty, off I go for more upgrading on Etsy's listing. Check them in a few hours time (no, probably tomorrow).... Hope everyone is enjoying their Monday so far!
