We were being featured...

There has been quite a few people like to blog about Missy Minzy. And Kellie from Kellie Christie is one of them. Kellie has a huge passion on making button jewellery has asked me to write something about me for her blog recently.
Missy Minzy being featured here
In my opinion, creative people who are good when comes to hands on work are usually not so fond talking about themself. And I happened to be one of them. I started blogging to record my day-to-day inspiration and my challenge. And I tried to blog as much as I can now that Peanut is with us. Just so you know am good on mixing my grammars given I speak 5 languages ;) I have noticed the older I get, the difficult I found writing about myself. I am better when comes to illustrations than words as mentioned in this blog's about..from the beginning. ;)

Anyways, I will leave you reading the little something about me via Kellie's blog. Do check out Kellie's button jewellery's range when you are on her site. Her works have developed so much comparing to her early collection.

Some Changes + Need more likers

There are now available in ACEO size!
You ever feel SO excited that you really want to share the good news but you had to hold back your horses and wait for the right time to unveil what the good news are?? I am ALL that at the moment!

There have been quite a few things happening at Missy Minzy. That had given me the force to expand my existing range. Because of that, I had to change my previous Facebook's fan page to suit my biz's name. It's a pity that I will loose all of my wall history and etc. I supposed it is worth doing it now that it's less than 50 people. So, be prepare to see some changes here and my Fan Page. Whatever the changes are, let's hope for the best! :)

I have missed out my 1st anniversary celebrating my journey of blogging away when Peanuts was born. I reckon I might throw some giveaway very soon. Or should I wait for MORE Facebook's followers say up to 100, or more? What you reckon? Am consider a newbie doing all this. Any tips on how to attract more likers liking my page? Thanks in advance for any suggestion! X

Busy Busy

It has been very full on at Missy Minzy's corner since the last post.
So many things to do, so little time to spare!

It must be your lucky day today (:P) as I am showcasing my newest range to my blog's followers. ;)
An overview of my newest range ACEO Limited Edition Print at my shop
(still listing most of them...I cannot believe it takes up so much time!)

I've decided to tag along with Lauren Alexander's fun this month:
August is ACEO month!
So what is ACEO? ACEO stands for Art Card Editions & Originals. ACEOs are miniature original art at affordable price. It is only 2.5" x 3.5" in size. They are highly collectible. They are also good for framing, displaying, scrapbooking, giving as gifts and much more!
D for Duck is now available to be purchased.
I have included some of my latest illustration into the ACEO range in line to kick off the whole new range. As it is a new range and am only producing 10 pieces for each ACEO illustration print. So all of my ACEO prints are limited edition only! I am offering FREE SHIPPING for every ACEO Limited Edition Print purchase this month. And you are invited to wander at Missy Minzy's store for more details. :)

Bright Forest will be available for purchasing v soon
I am currently working on MORE new works to be included into my Giclee Fine Art Print collection. It's about time to expand my work and hopefully they will go places! Looks like I might have to cut down time spent on Facebook and spend more quality time in order to produce MORE quality works to be sold.

LEGO Tattoo Pilot Pen Ads

Original Resource: LEGO tattoo ad campaign
Do you know that I have a degree in Advertising? Looking back at my professional working experience. I think I did not make the most of my degree. The blood for advertising (and of course, design) will always in me. It's like you are on creative block at times and you are eager to strike that huge breakthrough. Hence, being able to be inspired in order to trigger the creative juices flowing is very familiar in every creative in any field.

I have always a subscriber of DesignBoom. I found this in my daily newsletter today. A creative ad campaign like this excites me!

Random Found in the wee hours

Couldn't sleep (or was it don't want to sleep?? or was it over strengthing the brain cells??) after Peanut's midnight feed. I know, it's insane! But I can't help it! I guess I will just have to take the subconsequenbe feeling tired the next morning....

A big fan of playing with colors on top of the simplicity. This pad is in white...well use of colors to make the whole place look interesting and impact!

It is always interesting to know what other talents are up to. They have really inspired me a lot. It also gave great perspective how and what others are showcasing their works.

I stumbled into this fantastic talent - Intres via Etsy.
Her works put a big smile on my face. It's funny and cute. :)
love this brooch! :)

Another great talent. Tina Tarnoff
Do you know this is a paper cut art? :) For more infor via here.

New Found Talent: Catalina Estrada

Some of you may now know that am big in pattern and texture. I have been doodling and collecting all sort of interesting shapes offline. It has inspired me in a lot of ways.

Today, I came across this interesting illustration by this fantastic virtual artist - Catalina Estrada thru LMNOP.
One of her work for PlayTimeParis
It's colorful. Vibrant. Alive. Fun. Playful. One of her work's style reminded me one of my old masterpiece, which I created for one of the major retailer in US. My former superior thought it wasn't really answer the brief but look at how Catalina transformed it! I felt somehow relief and content when knowing my style is actually still marketable and out there..if you know what I meant. Spend some time and look at her work. It is a lot of hard work creating all those lovely illustration alright! :D

Challenge Day 95 & 96 - Props n PhotoShoot Days

No more summer's sunshine in Melbourne but only winter's gloomy in Melbourne! So the only spot which I can catch a lot of sun is actually in my studio (a tiny little space).

As you can see that I am having a new domain name. Missy Minzy will now be the new me. Hence the new blog's header. I have been very busy in the studio. Setting up the props, taking heaps of picture of my work, experimenting some of my artwork with some creative designs ;) ...of course, rebranding my blog..

In short, My Creative Space is very messy this week. You will know what I mean after looking at those pictures below....
On the right hand side of my working desk...
some experiment samples laying on the floor...next to where am sitting...
These are some of the props I was mucking around with during the photoshoot
Hey, I just realized I have a pincushion too! Hehe...
Something I learnt: I reckon I need to get some decent props to match with my masterpieces after mucking around with the props and photo shooting in my studio. :)
My digital camera couldn't capture the actual orange red color which I like to show you..
hence you are looking at 2 different red.
I made this awhile ago...and I have no idea what to do with them. Initially I thought of making them into tea towel or maybe frame it up on the stretched canvas frame. I do not know what to do with it because of the odd size they are in. Any suggestion?

Head over to Kirsty's place for more creative talents lovely people out there... Happy Thursday everyone! :)

Challenge Day 90 - Happy and Not So Happy

Happy: Am having a blast having creative strikes #2 in my creative space earlier of the day. I have also managed to rearrange certain things in this blog. So, it's all good! :)
* * * * * * * *
Not So Happy: Has anyone try to change their blog's domain name into a new name (while still keeping the followers)? Please let me know if you have done this in the past. Apparently I started this blog as a starting point where I can collect my day-to-day inspirations sometime mid last year. Little that I knew it is growing..and am wondering is it possible to change the domain name to a new name while still keeping it under blogspot.com.

Otherwise I might have to have a name for etsy store and having the existing domain name as my blog...if that makes any sense.. can anyone please help?

Challenge Day 80 - Umbrella

So I was drawing some umbrella of late. First was for one of the concept for the baby shower's invitation....then I started to draw many of them for some reason...[lame reason again].
Sexy color
hrmmm...polka dots!
I found this blog - Bellaumbrella by accident. Some of the vintage umbrellas are only for lease for occasion like wedding and events. Hrm, I like some of them but not sure will I bring them out.
Another site - Umbrella.net selling something similar from Bella Umbrella too. Anyways, have a browse..which type of umbrella do you fancy?
