As we entering Y2012...

Happy New Year everyone! Images resource

So much had happened since the last post and wish I could find the time sitting down blog about it all.
I am not a person who set some what New Year's resolution simply because I not good at keeping them. So I go without having any for years.

These are a few highlights for Missy Minzy in Year 2011
Year 2011 has been a great year for Missy Minzy. Image resource

We got into retails, both online stores and real storefronts. Image resource
To all retailers who stock Missy Minzy's products.
Big Thank you for believing in my products! It means a lot to me!

We also made it to the first Mathilda's Market last August.
Made some really good friends in the handmade industry.

We managed to launch a few NEW product range into our current range in Year 2011.

Removable Wall Decals is one of them.
8 Missy Minzy's signature mushroom sticks
in Removable Fabric Wall Decals

 More Mushroom.....singing carols
One of the mission when creating this range is to make it affordable
for others to purchase and being creative in their living/nursery rooms.

Oh, we have sold out our Y2012 Mini Desk Calendar. :)
We are hoping to launch something different for Y2013.

As some of you who follow me on the blog and FB's like page...and know me quite well.
I am not much of word person in real life. But I can be a chatterbox once you get to know me.
Considered I have warned you so ;)

To me, I prefer to let my products speak for itself. So I prefer to stay behind the scene.

And guess what? Someone had contacted us recently and wanted to write story about us!
Yup! We were in the press (Progress Leader-Boroondara) recently

I know I have said that am one of those protective mum/wife who prefer not to unveil too much of my personal life (names etc) on biz page. Don't get me wrong as I am very proud of my family members, totally. But hey! This is the moment hard to come by and she is indeed one of the reason how Missy Minzy was born.

Now that I have your attention. Please note that I am currently stepping back from my FB's like page until 1st February but will hope to spend some time hanging out in blogging land instead. My head is buzzing with lots of new ideas and goals to be achieved for both personal and business in Y2012. There will be lots of Big + Positive changes at Missy Minzy. I look forward sharing them with you more, like old days..but with a new twist! Am getting the feeling that Y2012 is going to be a great year, for everyone!

Latest Print - Dream BIG

I have spent days pondering, staring and playing with this illustration.
I just couldn't get it right no matter how much I tried
(I have at least more than 5 different execution for her).
And I wish you could see the beautiful pattern texture on "Dream BIG".
I still think simple suits the whole Minzy Girl's series.
Minzy Girl Series - Dream BIG
Will be available on Madeit soon

Mr Minzy and I like to talk about dreams when we first met.
Dreams as in goals and dreams when we were asleep.
Quite often we have spent time together analyzing
our dreams when we awake.
We tried to understand each of them.
We believed that each dream (most of them)
tends to carry a message to us.

Are you into dreams like us?
Do you dream of dreams?
Have you been dreaming your Dream BIG?
No matter what your dream is.
Remember that there's always hope when you dream.
Don't loose your faith! x

New Prints - Minzy Girl Series

It has been raining in Melbourne for the last few days,
maybe Minzy Girl has some fresh idea which
she could take us to a sunnier place and hide.
is now available to be purchased on Madeit
"Finally Came Through"
will be available to be purchased on Madeit soon

"Is this good enough?"
or
"How can I make it better?"
Some basic questions I asked myself often.
I usually spent a lot of time pondering,
looking at my work
before I share it with all of you.

I have some positive progress on my work desk of late.
Yes, my creative flair is at the peak.
(Yeah, more prints to be unveiled!)
I spent more time creating what I like to do
and not doing what others are loving.
Be original (like I always!) and
not get sucked into what trend and what not.
I hope your day is fulfilled with lot of this positive energy.
Enjoy your Friday!

New (Kinda) Prints

Minzy Girl - Friends (will be available on Madeit, soon)

Sometime it's good to step back and review your own work even it's done.
I quite like this execution, a lot better than the previous version.
This execution was inspired by friends who made time
to catch up over yum cha with us this late morning.
It's all good. :)

Hand illustrated this pair of ducks for Mr Minzy this Valentines.
But I have made some amendment on them since..
just so they would look a bit more chic.

We're happy being mushroom
Yeah, the execution of this illustration is slightly different.
Wanting to muck around with some new surface design's texture.

December Challenge - Day 5

A bit of fun having the toadstool falling down from the sky..just like the snowflakes.

I have been making time to get things done when Peanut is with Mr Minzy. I'd managed to get out from the house spent some Q time by myself. Was out and about wandering at some handmade markets. Ahh, came to realize my price of my hard works (my work!) are underpriced compared to most of the players out there. Still back to the question of the art of pricing. Always a struggles.

The right price to attract buyers OR the real price to survive.
Which will you opt for?

Thank You

It's summer time!
This is the view from my work desk. Kinda ;)
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who left some really lovely comments and made time writing emails encouraging me in regards one of my previous post. I like receiving comments, especially the positive and encouraging one! You have no idea those beautiful thoughts and words meant a lot to me. That keeps me going! To express how much I appreciate all the supports is by continue doing what am doing best (drawing+designing) and make this (Missy Minzy) more happening. I am really looking forward for Year 2011, with bells on. Really! :)

Sweet #2
Have not been doing a lot of creating of late.
Mainly spending time watching Peanut growing.
We have now started her solid and she seems to enjoy it more and more.
Minzy Girl's Collection - Play Time
I like the Minzy Girl's Collection to be simple, clean and sweet.

Sweet #3
Was mucking around on this illustration awhile back but it did not work out well.
So I gave up and move onto the others. And am back this time, with this..
thought it looks good with the Missy Minzy's signature pattern and colours. Sweet.

ETA: (Forgotten to mention that you will see Missy Minzy at FFM, Williamstown this Sunday).

Not quite sneak peek shots

I have quite a bit of breakthrough this week. Hence, I have some new work to be unveiled and share with you. It looks this week has been a productive week. And am quite satisfied with the bright and vibrant colours!
One of my new work this week
No title at this stage.
Will soon list them on madeit when a title is given.

I have been spending heaps of quality time watching Peanut growing (sorry if I haven't write you back sooner). Gosh, don't they grow up quick?? 5 months she is now. I had to unwrap the christmas pressie dress set which I bought for her before she was born cuz she is getting longer. She is going to be taller than me. :) I came to realize whatever things does not matter. The most beautiful things is now. So lovely watching Peanut growing. So sweet! :)

Madeit's store frontview's banner ..lol
Thought I could have a little bit of fun ;)

Apart from Q time watching Peanut growing...
I have also spent a bit of time reflecting about the future for Missy Minzy.
love love love this print...it looks a lot better in real life :))

I have noticed that the only thing which I should,
maintaining my momentum is to keep creating and keep going.
That should be the ultimate goal for me.
I actually don't mind this print if it's in my original black and white sketching.

Just keep on doing what I love doing and enjoy the adventure ride while am on it. :)
There should be a few more new works on the way..stay tuned peep. xo

Last Batch of Original Lino Print. Hence limited edition.

There were quite a few people stopped at my stall and had a look at this print at my first market - Fairy Floss Markets early this month. People who knew the whole process of making Lino Print will appreciate this. I started carving this when I first started involving in blogging. Linoblock was one of a few things I played around. Hence this is a very special to me.
Early stage of "Please Don't Eat Me' in Lino Print.
Unfortunately only 2 prints (in black only) turned out to be the only presentable ones.
Yeah, am very fussy and precise on whatever am doing when comes to art.
Only 2 available to be purchase at madeit.
This is how it looks like when it's done. Just a step before applying the ink.
All hand craved. Hand inked. Then hand pressed (if that's the right word ;)
before hand print them on quality paper. A lot of work but I enjoyed making them.
6 more of Trees to go.
This will be my last batch of my original lino prints. It contents a lot of work and it is time consuming. It can be quite challenging when you have the little one on your feet with all the tools laying on the floor (with your dirty hands too).

That cloud in Missy Minzy's World

Waking up to a wet weather in Melbourne this morning. However my mood is actually feeling lighter. Probably it got to do with It's Friday!? Having the thought of making some soft toy. No idea what to make at this moment. Maybe it's a good way of spending time with Peanut while watching her learning how to roll for a change :)

I just realized I have not introduce to you one of my recent work.
Please meet my "Very Cloudy". It's 8 x 10".
This is how the clouds look like when it's Very Cloudy in Missy Minzy's World.
Was thinking white or black frame (I like simple frame).
Though black frame makes this print look outstanding.

It's a shame that the screen could not show you
how beautiful the colour is in real life.
It will be available on Madeit soon.

Minzy Girl - lalala

Late night creative. My head is getting heavier as the time clicking clocking away...
and I managed to finish one of the new illustration.
Minzy Girl - lalala
Off to bed now that this post is loaded. Good night *yawn*
